The Research Council of Norway is organizing a conference about political changes in Europe, and how these affect Norway. Leading researchers, several from ARENA, will present first hand insight into the latest research on these areas.

At the Tuesday Seminar on 28 November, Pieter de Wilde will present his paper 'Responding to the public in the European Union: a process model of organizational mediatization'.

Åse Gornitzka and Eva Krick, both from ARENA, will present their paper 'Expertisation of policy advice. Dynamics of the EU Commission’s high level groups' on 21 November 2017.

Morten Egeberg and Åse Gornitzka offer a PhD course in ‘An Organizational Approach to Public Governance’ at the Department of Political Science in November 2017.

Jørgen Bølstad from ARENA gave a presentation of the paper 'Capacity, willingness, and sovereign default risk: reassuring the market in times of crisis' at the Tuesday Seminar on 31 October 2017.

Dr. Dimiter Toshkov presented the paper 'How are citizens’ judgements about international cooperation shaped? Experimental evidence from the Eastern periphery of Europe' on 26 September 2017.

At the ARENA Tuesday Seminar on 19 September, Dr. Mitja Sienknecht from Berlin Social Science Center presented her paper 'Cosmopolitan responsibility. Normative and empirical dimensions'.

GLOBUS researchers will chair the section The European Union: Promoting or obstructing global justice at the EISA conference on International Relations in Barcelona, September 2017.

Jarle Trondal and Morten Egeberg will chair a panel at the 2017 ECPR General Conference in Oslo. 

Johan P. Olsen holds the plenary lecture at the ECPR General Conference in Oslo on 7 September. 

ARENA is strongly represented at the ECPR General Conference 2017 in Oslo. Our researchers will participate in around 20 different panels and sections.  

Professor Dimitris N. Chryssochoou from Panteion University will present ‘The whole and the parts: the demands of “unity in diversity”’ on 29 August 2017. 

ARENA researcher Johanne Døhlie Saltnes will discuss the paper 'Resistance to EU integration. Accounting for Like-Minded reluctance to donor coordination in EU development policy' at the ARENA Tuesday Seminar on 13 June 2017.

Professor Emeritus in Political Science and founding director of ARENA Johan P. Olsen will present his latest book Democratic Accountability, Political Order, and Change at ARENA on 9 June 2017.

On Tuesday 30 May 2017, Professor Hussein Kassim and Professor Sara Connolly from the University of East Anglia gave the presentation 'One EU civil service or many? The General Secretariat of the Council and the European Commission compared'.

Prof. Dr. Michèle Knodt from the Darmstadt University of Technology presented the paper 'Perceptions of the EU’s Global Energy Governance in the light of the Paris agreement on Climate Change' at the ARENA Tuesday Seminar on 2 May 2017.

Professor Daniel Naurin from PluriCourts, the University of Oslo, presented a paper, co-authored with Olof Larsson, 'Split Vision. Multidimensionality in the European Union’s Legal Policy Space' on 25 April 2017.

At the ARENA Tuesday Seminar on 28 March 2017, Espen D. H. Olsen from ARENA presented the paper 'European Citizenship: an unhappy misunderstanding?'.

Guri Rosén organises a workshop that aims to analyse how the processes of parliamentarisation and politicization affect the EU's external relations. 

In this Tuesday Seminar, Charlotte Galpin and Hans-Jörg Trenz presented a paper 'A ‘Spiral of Euroscepticism’? European Parliament Elections, Public Contestation and Media Negativity in Germany and the UK'.

Erik Jones from the Johns Hopkins University opened the spring series of the Tuesday seminars at ARENA on 24 January 2017. His presentation was entitled 'What’s wrong with the Euro and how to fix it'.

At the ARENA Tuesday Seminar on 13 December 2016 Espen D. H. Olsen from ARENA will present the paper 'European Citizenship: an unhappy misunderstanding?'.

On 24-25 November John Erik Fossum and Jozef Bátora hosted the workshop 'The EU and its crises: From resilient ambiguity to ambiguous resilience - or beyond?' at ARENA.
