Faglige Interesser
Tommaso Pavones komparative forskning sonderer de skjulte – og i noen tilfeller omstridte – politiske prosessene som lar dommere og advokatstand forme politisk utvikling og fremme sosial forandring, i tillegg til de politiske prosessene rundt (ikke)-håndheving av rettsstatsprinsipper innad i EU. Han er også interessert i kvalitativ forskningsmetodikk, “process-tracing", komparative case-studier, feltarbeid og intervjumetodikk.
Bakgrunn
Tommaso Pavone er en assisterende professor i rettsvitenskap og politikk hos School of Government and Public Policy (SGPP) ved University of Arizona og gjesteforsker hos ARENA Center for European Studies ved Universitetet i Oslo, hvor han er tilknyttet ENROL-prosjektet. Han mottok sin PhD fra Princeton Universitys politiske fakultet i 2019, og har siden utgitt flere prisvinnende bøker og artikler i gjeve tidsskrifter. Hans forskning har videre blitt omtalt av blant andre The New York Times og Politico.
