The Great White Hope: Donald Trump, Race and the Crisis of American Democracy

In this presentation, Christopher Parker, University of Washington, outlines an ongoing book project.

The book project examines the origins of support for Trump among white folk.

The project also examines the origins of Trump's rejection among people of color (POC), and the political consequences of Trump support and Trump rejection.

Along the way, Parker discusses the measurement and meaning of conspiratorial thinking in the American context.

Christopher Sebastian Parker is a professor of political science at the University of Washington and currently a guest researcher at C-REX.
