Under this field of study we explore the following questions:

  • How does one measure Norway’s capital stock?
  • What factors are most important for economic growth?
  • What data is needed to determine how welfare schemes influence sick-leave?
  • We know that there is a correlation between education and wage levels, but is this due to education increasing productivity or is it due to the fact that educated people get the best jobs?
  • How do we measure effects of public spending on  interest rates and unemployment, and how accurate are such measures?
  • How do we establish the explanatory power of competing economic theories?
