On the 12th and 13th of September 2023 Ariane Dupont-Kieffer will give four lectures about the history of econometrics and the specific contributions of Frisch and Haavelmo in the formative period of econometrics as discipline specific methodology. The lectures are open to all interested.
Congo Calling is a patient, empathetic but clear-sighted if not disillusioned film about three people of European and American origin, who work in Eastern Congo in the present. The main character is a young US American social science PhD student, which makes the film particularly relevant for us. The film invites us to discuss the concept of 'Africa', and critically engage with European (and US American, and other privileged) modes of imagining and acting in 'Africa'.

This year’s SCANCOR Workshop on Institutional Analysis will be hosted by the Department of Political Science at the University of Oslo in collaboration with BI Norwegian Business School and Oslo Metropolitan University. The workshop is supported through funding from the NFR INPART- project SCANCOR-NEWORG. Join the event for a one-week intense PhD workshop on institutional analysis. In the public morning lectures leading international as well as local faculty present and discuss recent research within the field of institutional theory. Afternoon workshop sessions with leading international faculty are limited to PhD students who successfully apply to the workshop.
