About Bruno Latour:
Bruno Latour is a professor at Sciences Po Paris. He was trained first as a philosopher and then an anthropologist. From 1982 to 2006, he has been professor at the Centre de Sociologie de l'Innovation at the École Nationale Supérieure des Mines in Paris and, for various periods, visiting professor at UCSD, at the London School of Economics and at the History of Science Department of Harvard University.
After completing field studies in Africa and California he specialized in the analysis of scientists and engineers at work. In addition to work in philosophy, history, sociology and anthropology of science, he has collaborated on many studies in science policy and research management.
Latour is probably best known for his role in the development of the Actor-Network Theory, through titles like “Reassembling the Social, an Introduction to Actor Network Theory” and “Science in Action. How to Follow Scientists and Engineers through Society”, not to mention the very influential chapter: “Give me a laboratory and I will Raise the World”.
Having been awarded and ERC grant to pursue an inquiry into modes of existence, he is now for three years engaged into the making of this collaborative digital platform.
