The introductory section should have a length of between 10,000 and 15,000 words.
An article-based thesis must (in addition to the introductory section) consist of at least three single-authored articles or two single-authored articles and two or more co-authored articles.

At the public defence, the candidate must be able to defend all parts of the thesis.
