Handing in your thesis

By the submission deadline

1. Make sure that the thesis comply with the formal requirements

2. Sumbit your thesis in Inspera

3. Submit your thesis in DUO, UiO's digital repository

  • You submit your thesis to DUO, UiO's digital repository. You do this in StudentWeb.
  • You must log in with username and password, not your pin code.
  • See the University Library's manual on how to do this.

4. Fill out mandatory study form

5. Oral exam

The oral exams will be held in June and August. When a date and time of the oral exam has been scheduled, you will receive an e-mail from the Department. You will be notified at least one week before the oral exam.

6. Update your student address in StudentWeb

Approximately 6 weeks (sometimes later) after the oral exam, your Master's diploma will be sent to your registered student address. It is therefore important that you have updated your student address in StudentWeb.

After grading (and appeals processing) 

7. Notify the NSD that your project is completed

  • If you have processed/obtained personal data which is notifiable to the NSD, it is important that you notify them that the project is completed, and what you have done with the data.
  • You project is completed when you have received the grade for your master`s thesis. If you wish to appeal against the grade on your master`s thesis, you must wait to delete your data until to you receive your final grade.

8. Send the finished Master Thesis to your supervisor

9. Print the Master Thesis

The department does not cover printing
