New PhD Candidates at ESOP

Matteo Alpino, Martin Eckhoff Andresen, and Eivind Hammersmark Olsen are the three PhD candidates who start their work at ESOP this semester.

  • Matteo Alpino has his MA in Economics from Bocconi University, Milano, and he is interested in political economy, cultural economics, and macroeconomics. Halvor Mehlum is his main supervisor. Matteo will be sitting at ES 1013.
  • Martin Eckhoff Andresen is already well known among ESOP staff as the previous research assistant at ESOP. He also received ESOP's Student Scholarship in 2013 and has his MA from the Department of Economics at UiO. Martin is interested in labor economics, microeconomics, econometrics, and economics of the welfare state. His main supervisor is Tarjei Havnes. Martin will be sharing an office with Matteo at ES 1013.
  • Eivind Hammersmark Olsen also received ESOP's Student Scholarship in 2013 and has his MA from the Department of Economics at UiO. Eivind is interested in development economics, resource economics, and political economy. His main supervisor is Jo Thori Lind. Eivind will be sitting at ES 1041.
