A prize of 25 000 NOK will be awarded to Norway's best master thesis in economics on gender related issues.
The Department of Economics is appointing 4-6 Research Fellows in Economics. Two of the research fellowships are related to ESOP.

Postdoc Silje Aslaksen has been awarded the Public Policy Award at the 2010 Annual Conference of the International Institute of Public Finance (IIPF), which took place in Uppsala this week.
Oeindrila Dube is an assistant professor in politics and economics at New York University. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from Harvard University, a M.Phil in Economics from the University of Oxford, and a B.A. in Public Policy from Stanford University. She also received the Rhodes Scholarship in 2002.

ESOP has a limited number of scholarships available for Master Students who plan to write their Master's thesis. The thesis must be relevant to ESOP's research areas.
On Friday March 12, Jon Hernes Fiva was awarded the The Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters' Prize for young researchers within the Humanities and Social Sciences. The prize ceremony took place in Trondheim in the presence of the Norwegian King.
This week John Geary is visiting ESOP as a guest researcher this week, 15-19 March. Geary is working in the fields of industrial relations and business management.
