Academic Interests
His research topics are varied and include the social organization of ships, the organization of therapeutical processes, cultural and developmental studies of engineering divisions (high-technology) in large corporations, ministries (national government), university departments, hospitals and research institutes. In addition to this I have done a fair amount of shorter studies in many types of firms and organizations. Much of this work is informed by an interest in gender relations and the relations between work and family. Besides these main activities directed towards working life I have also done some research on drug-addiction, prostitution and AIDS. My long term theoretical interest is in the interactions between power and trust and language, legitimation and change in modern, formal organizations (private and public). Lately this interest has focused on the processes of leadership, the construction of authority, organisational variety/change and the transformations of basic relations between labour and capital in a globalised economy where information processing and knowledge is a critical productive factor.
