Facing the Future 2017 Conference

Facing the Future 2017 is an interactive conference and workshop with the theme: “Collaborative power for societal transformations in a rapidly changing world”. Professor Karen O’Brien from AdaptationCONNECTS will lead the conference in collaboration with Dr Anthony Hodgson from the International Futures Forum.



The focus of Facing the Future 2017 will be on the role and nature of collaboration. In particular it will focus on collaboration as a force for leveraging collective change to achieving the large scale transformations needed faced with global challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss and global inequality. Values, interests, goals and visions for the future influnce collaboration and it can be challenging for collaborations to acheive transformational change. The interactive workshop will explore theories and tools for enhancing collaborative power,

The interactive conference is aimed at Masters, PhD and early career researchers or practitioners from the sciences, social sciences, and humanities. To read more about the conference and register click here.

AdaptationCONNECTS is co-hosting this two-day interactive conference and workshop the 28th and 29th August 2017 in Dundee, with the Centre for Environmental Change and Human Resilience and the International Futures Forum. Facing the Future 2017 is organized back-to-back with the international Transformations 2017 conference, 30th August - 1st September.
