First FP7 social sciences and science in society projects announced

The Research Council of Norway refers a news release from the European Commission about the first projects to be financed under the 'Socio-economic sciences and humanities' and 'Science in society' programmes of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).

The European Commission has released details of the first projects to be financed under the 'Socio-economic sciences and humanities' and 'Science in society' programmes of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). Under the first call of the SSH-programme, EUMARGINS is the only project that is being coordinated from Norway. In general, the Norwegian participation in the SSH and SiS programs is good. Under the SSH programme there are 11 projects (out of 65) in which Norway is involved, and one is coordinated from Norway. For the SiS programme there are 7 (from a total of 28), of which 2 are coordinated from Norway.
