New master thesis

A priority for the Solar Transitions project has been to facilitate the work of master students. At the University of Oslo, Department of Sociology and Human Geography, another master thesis has been completed.

Vilde Blix Huseby has studied the management of solar mini-grids in three islands of the Sunderbans in West Bengal, India. By employing literature from the field of common resource management, theories of trust and perspectives of socio-technological systems, different types of management models are compared. The thesis aims to take an explorative approach to the subject, identifying how different social and technical factors have shaped the management of the solar mini-grids at the islands.
