Election of Head of Department, Deputy Head and Executive Board for ISS 2023

Election of Head of Department and Deputy Head

Elections will be held for Head of Department and Deputy Head for the 2024-2027 term in the Fall of 2023.

As only one nomination was forwarded for Head of Department and one for Deputy Head of Department, the Board moved to simplify the election and voted unanimously to elect Anniken Hagelund as Head of Department and David Jordhus-Lier at Deputy Head of Department for 2024-2027 on 21 June 2023.

Election committee

An election committee appointed by the Board to identify candidates carried out a search in the Spring of 2023.

The election committee's report (submitted to the Board for approval 24 May 2023) has identified two candidates: Anniken Hagelund and David Jordhus-Lier.

• Appointment of election committee: 15 February 2023
• Board review of election committee's report: 24 May 2023
  • The election board publicizes their report. 
• Deadline to announce candidacy: 14 June 202​​​​​​3 noon
  • The election board calls for additional candidates.
• Should no more than two candidates stand for election: simplified election and Board approval of standing candidates: 21 June 2023 
  • The election board advises the Board to call the election results.
• Should more than two candidates stand for election: e-election for Head of Department and Deputy Head November 2023
  • The election board ensures that an e-election is held. 
• Constituent meeting of new Board: January 2024

Nomination of candidates

The election board calls for additional candidates. You may nominate yourself or a colleague, but only permanent scientific staff are eligible. Nominations can be sent by email to the election board's secretary. Deadline: 14 June 2023.

Election of Executive Board

Elections will be held in the Fall of 2023 for Executive Board members for the 2024-2027 term (2024 only for fixed-term representatives).
