Academic interests

I'm a postdoctoral fellow working on political and electoral behaviour, with a particular interest in how social background - especially social class - can impact political attitudes and behaviour. But I'm also interested in a range of other topics, including globalization, group identity, climate attitudes, media effects, and the effect of austerity policies on party popularity. My research has been published in journals such as the British Journal of Political Science, the British Journal of Sociology, Electoral Studies, European Journal of Political Research, European Political Science Review, iScience, Journal of Elections, Public Opinion, and Parties, and West European Politics.

I have also published a book on party families in Western Europe (2023). Scripts in R and Stata to re-create the party family schema of the book in different survey- and party databases such as the ESS or CHES are available here

Currently, I'm working on projects that explore group appeals in politics, test the validity of class schemas, examine the extent to which voters defend democracy, and document the social backgrounds of ministers worldwide.
