If you want to pursuit a career in data-science or hear more about possibilities for political science jobs outside of academia, the Political Data Science (PODS) group is hosting a seminar on careers in political data-science March 3rd, 2022 at Auditorium 6 at Eilert Sundt, Blindern. We have invited three speakers that will talk about their experiences and paths to a career where data-science is central.
Dr Håvard M Nygård is the Director of the Department for Knowledge at NORAD. He has previous worked as a researcher at PRIO. He has a PhD in Political Science for the University of Oslo.
Solveig Bjørkholt is a phd-student at the Department of Political Science at the University of Oslo. Before joining the department, she worked as a data-scientist at Statistics Norway.
Deputy Director General Kristin Hemmer Mørkestøl heads the Section for national security in the Police-department of the Department of Justice and Public Security. Previously, Mørkestøl work at the Ministry of Defence as well as Norwegian Defence Research Establishment, and has worked extensively on the role of technology in strategic policy development.
