Seminars: How to develop efficient, inspiring, fun and similar seminars?

Bjørn Høyland gives a brief presentation of the role of seminars at ISV. Seminars may be the most important arena for learning that we offer to our students. Here, they get to practice oral presentation, critique, and scholarly exchange of arguments. But seminars are costly in terms of space, time, and people. So, how do we make the most out of it? How to make sure that all students learn, are challenged, and develop the skills they are supposed to? Also, how can we ensure that PhDs and postdocs get the chance to develop their pedagogical skills while ensuring the content and the quality of the seminars are similar across different seminar groups?
