About the project
In identifying the expectations people have to the municipality in which they live, the project integrates two perspectives which have generally been pursued independently of one another:
- studies of the attitudes about and experiences of residents with respect to local politics and administration – studies which typically have been based on population surveys, and
- studies concerning the choices and effects of alternative strategies which municipalities have selected to adapt to a changing environment – studies that are most commonly based on investigations of a smaller number of cases. In this project these two are brought together using several different databases which permit a broader and innovative analytical approach.
