Speaker: Svein Efjestad worked for the Norwegian Ministry of Defense from 1981 until August 2022, when he retired as the Ministry's Policy Director. After four years in the Norwegian Delegation to NATO at the beginning of his career, he held senior positions in security policy, covering a broad spectrum of issues. Between 1995 and 2013 he was the Ministry's Director General for Security Policy. Efjestad holds a master's degree in political science from the University of Oslo.
