The Scandinavian Consortium for Organizational Research (SCANCOR) facilitates inquiry in organizational social science among a transnational network of scholars by enabling research visits to Stanford University and Harvard University and providing PhD workshops and courses.
Our purposes are:
- to nurture the development of social scientists and their scholarship over the course of whole careers
- to advance research and development in the social sciences, particularly in the area of organizational studies
- to encourage collaboration among organizational social scientists worldwide
- to operate facilities at Stanford University and Harvard University for visiting scholars from our member institutions
SCANCOR is open to applicants from all disciplines and research fields who study organizations in a broader sense. This includes, but is not limited to, their internal workings, their relationship to their environment, their influence on their members or environments, change processes in organizations, and other related issues.
SCANCOR at Stanford is open to visitors at all stages of their careers, while SCANCOR at Harvard is only open to tenure-track or tenured academics.
Every year in late August / early September SCANCOR organizes the Institutional Analysis Workshop for PhDs, which offers a one-week intense PhD course with leading international researchers.

There are three application deadlines for visits to Stanford and two application deadlines for visits to Harvard each year. The application portal on the SCANCOR webpage usually opens six to eight weeks prior to the deadline. The deadlines for Stanford are:
- May 1 (for visits in Winter or Winter & Spring quarters in the following year)
- September 1 (for visits in Spring quarter in the following year)
- November 1 (for visits in Fall quarter in the following year)
The deadlines for Harvard are:
- May 1 (for visits in the spring semester in the following year)
- November 1 (for visits in the fall semester in the following year)
