Susan C. South is a Professor of Clinical Psychology in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Purdue University, where she heads the Relationships and Mental Health Lab. She has done extensive and influential research into the links between romantic relationship satisfaction, mental illness and relationship distress, and the interplay between genes and environment. South is currently an Associate Editor for the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.
