Who can become the department head and deputy head?
The formal qualification requirements for the department head at PSI for the period 2024-2027 are as follows:

Primary requirement is professor competence, but there is also a possibility to deviate from this

A PhD in psychology or equivalent is required

Proficiency in Norwegian/Scandinavian language at a C1 level, and English as a working language
Non-formal qualifications for the department head

Relevant management experience

Good knowledge of psychology as a practice field, teaching, and research area in Norway

Understanding of the operations of knowledge/research organizations

Personal suitability
Who can propose candidates?

Proposals for candidates must be signed by at least 5 individuals with voting rights

Candidates proposed should have been approached and expressed willingness to take on the role if elected

Anyone with voting rights has the right to propose candidates

An individual can only sign one proposal for the same position

Head of Administration Gunnar Andre Malmin serves as the secretary of the election board.
The election board ensures that the election is conducted in accordance with UiO's election regulations, oversees the vote count, and makes all decisions not assigned to another body in connection with the election.
Proposal from the election committee
An alternative proposal exists, where the current department leadership, led by Bjørn Lau and deputy head Vibeke Moe, is nominated as candidates for department leadership for 2024-2027.
Voting rights
Students and permanent employees in at least a half-time position at the faculty, as well as adjunct professors, have voting rights. In addition, temporary employees have voting rights if they have a continuous employment of at least 50% for at least one year on the day of the election.
Election period
The election takes place from September 18th to September 27th. The votes are counted separately for the following three groups and weighted as follows:
