Diktafon-procedure
Voice Recorder must be connected to an existing Nettskjema, and all audio recordings are stored on Nettskjema (or TSD if you have linked Nettskjema with TSD). (More information: Nettskjema-voice recorder - University of Oslo (uio.no))

Note that when you first open the voice recorder app, it asks you for the form ID.
- It's important that you have created an audio-Nettskjema at nettskjema.no before entering the app. If you're unsure how to create a Nettskjema-audiorecording, you can follow the instructions in any of the procedures in the links above, or here.
The form-ID can be found in the Nettskjema you want to link with the voice recorder, or as the last six digits in the Nettskjema link. See the figure below.
If you enter the voice recorder and you can't enter the form-ID right away, go to settings in the bottom right corner. Settings > Change Connection > enter the form ID of your project.
Once you have linked the voice recorder to the correct Nettskjema, everything is set for recording. Remember to turn on airplane mode, so that the recording isn't interrupted by notifications! It's a good idea to run several test recordings before recording an interview.
Recordings with the voice recorder currently have a time limit of one and a half hours - when this is reached, you must stop the interview, stop the recording, and start a new one. When you are finished recording, you 'submit' the recording in the app.
Voice Recorder can be used for both in-person and digital interviews. For digital interviews, it works well to record from the laptop's speaker. See the interview over Zoom for more information on this.
There have been occasional issues with the Nettskjema-voice recorder. Therefore, it's recommended to use two different devices (e.g., mobile phone and iPad/or two mobile phones, for example an old phone that can connect to the internet), and record with both, so that both send the file to TSD. As a precaution, you can also borrow one of the few encrypted recorders that PSI has available for loan, or make a recording with a regular, unencrypted recorder. Before you leave the premises after the interview, check if the file has been uploaded to TSD and then immediately delete the file on the unencrypted recorder.
Where to find the Diktafon-Recordings in TSD?
Once you have created a TSD area, managed to log in through VMware Horizon, created a Nettskjema for audio recording, downloaded the Voice Recorder app and linked the Voice Recorder to the correct Nettskjema, you can try to do an audio recording test.
1. Make a short audio recording with the Voice Recorder app.
2. Log into TSD through VMware and try to find the interview using these steps:
3. Select the folder icon (File Explorer) at the bottom of the screen.
4. Select 'This PC' from the menu on the left side.
5. Select data ('data(\\ess01\Pxxxx)(N:)') located at the bottom right.
6. Select 'durable'.
7. Select 'nettskjema-data'.
8. Choose the folder with the name that matches your Nettskjema ID (the number you had to enter into the Voice Recorder app to connect the app to the correct Nettskjema).
9. Select 'attachments'.
10. You will now see all the recordings. It may be useful to name them in a way that allows you to keep the system organized. There can be no spaces in file names.
