Corticospinal Excitability in Action Preparation - How does the brain make fast decisions?

The study investigates the neural mechanisms behind goal-directed movements and decision making.

About the project

By utilising a combination of TMS together with EEG and EMG recording methods, this research project hopes to gain a deeper understanding of how the brain processes external stimuli and makes fast decisions.

EMG will be used to record muscle activity and EEG records the electrical activity of the brain while TMS is a non-invasive form of brain stimulation. We expect that by combining these three methods, we will be able to gain valuable information about how the brain is able to respond to external stimuli and how it makes decisions in a split second.
