About the project
Our understanding and recognition of faces play a crucial role in social interactions and communication. This study aims to explore human capabilities in identifying and differentiating faces. We focus on the cognitive processes involved in face recognition through a series of tasks where participants are exposed to various human faces.
The study consists of two main parts: a cognitive study for testing recognition skills and an fMRI study to investigate the neural underpinnings of these abilities. By integrating behavioral and neuroimaging methods, we seek to deepen our understanding of how individuals recognize and process facial identities.
Participate
Participants will view images of faces and respond to questions.
We are actively recruiting participants who:
- Are between the ages of 18 to 40
- Have normal or corrected-to-normal vision and hearing
- Are healthy and not currently taking psychiatric medication
For the cognitive study, the experimental procedure takes place at The Department of Psychology (PSI) and should take about 1 hour in total. Participants will receive a gift card of 150 NOK.
For the fMRI study, the experimental procedure takes place at The Intervention Centre (IVS) at Oslo University Hospital (Rikshospitalet) and should take about 2 hours in total. Participants will receive a gift card of 200 NOK.
