About the project
The cognitive effects of electroconvulsive therapy in depression study is a prospective, longitudinal project assessing general neurocognitive function with the MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery (MCCB) in participants who receive electroconvulsive treatment (ECT) for depression disorders in Vestre Viken Hospital Trust.
Objectives
This is the first study obtaining comprehensive neurocognitive data over a long follow-up period. The participants are assessed before, 6 weeks after, 6 months after, and 2 years after ECT.
Outcomes
The cognitive test results will be compared with subjective reports of neurocognitive function.
