Implementing TF-CBT in Norwegian child and adolescent mental health clinics 2012-2024

For informationvon on TF-CBT and the implementation project, see www.nkvts.no/tf-cbt.

Main goal

After a study in eight Norwegian BUPs that investigated the effect of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) showed that the method is documented to be effective for children with clinically significant post-traumatic stress symptoms (Jensen et. al., 2013), the National Center for Violence and Traumatic Stress (NKVTS) commissioned by Health Directorate to implement the method in all the country's child and mental health clinics.

By the end of 2021, NKVTS has contributed to the implementation of TF-CBT in approximately 80% of the country's child and mental health clinics.
