Through this research, we are investigating what lies behind high rates of self harm among youth whose sexuality or gender identities are marginalised.

About the project

The focus is on how young LGBTIQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer), and questioning people’s understandings of emotional wellbeing, sexual and gender identity, and the body feature in their perspectives on emotional distress and self harm.
