For 60 years, the Department has played a central role within the field of social anthropology nationally and internationally. As we celebrate this milestone, we are reflecting on the past, present and future: Where have we been, where are we, and where are we going?

The program during the day will include lectures, debates, and insights from both new and established voices in the field of social anthropology. We will also have an "anthrocarousel," where anthropologists will provide insight into how anthropology plays into their daily work. After these conversations and discussions, there will be further celebration and a party in the evening.

Tentative program:

  • 10:00-17:00: Lectures, debates, and anthrocarousel. Location: Domus Bibliotheca.
    • More information about the detailed program will be provided.
    • Some of the program will be in Norwegian and some in English. This will be indicated in the program.
  • 18:00-? : Further celebration and evening festivities. Location: TBA.

We warmly welcome all old and new friends of the Department to join us for knowledge sharing, colleague gatherings, and celebration!
