2024

The 18th International Society of Ethnobiology Congress, Cadi Ayyad University, May

Yayi Zheng drew from PhD research and presented the paper “Multispecies invasion: Parthenium hysterophorus in the pastoral lands of southern Ethiopia” in the panel “Multispecies assemblages in times of climate change-induced (eco)systemic transformations: An interdisciplinary discussion on how ticks, fleas, mosquitoes, & other vectors of human & animal diseases restructure the world”.

Internal kick-off workshop with the AMBER team, March

The AMBER team held an internal kick-off workshop over two days of intense discussions about the project, ending with an informal presentation for fellow SAI staff.

Rural-Urban Lives, Locations, and (Dis)Connections during Covid and Beyond, the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore, November.

Alessandro Rippa and Dan Seng Lawn (Kachinland Research center) presented and discussed their paper "Trading in troubled times: The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, military coup, and Chinese border closure on the Kachin amber industry"
