About

Tausi Iddy Feruzi is a Master's student at Maseno University, Kenya, as well as an experienced anthropologist with a keen interest in health-related issues such as malnutrition in children, chronic disease, and adolescent sexual and reproductive knowledge.

Her master's dissertation project is part of AnthEM thematic cluster 6, "Chronic Disease, Food, and Toxicity". The project will be about "Therapy Management Option for Diabetic Patients in Ilala District, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania." Diabetes is, like other chronic diseases, becoming very common in Tanzania. As an anthropologist Feruzi is curious to explore the general understanding of society about diabetes, the role of family care in caregiving, food, diet, and nutrition for diabetic patients, as well as appropriate treatment and diagnosis.
