Can you imagine yourself studying urban change around a port like Hamburg, or Drammen? Or would you like to look into the social and economic dynamics that drive shipping in Northern Europe? Conduct research amongst former ship-building workers in Malmö? Or come up with your own fieldwork project related to maritime work anywhere else in the world? Then do consider applying for a spot in the new MA programme in Social Anthropology at University of Oslo. "Life cycle of container ships" is currently looking for up to three MA students who want to be part of our research team while studying for 2 years at SAI. If accepted, in addition to joining a new, dynamic programme centered on contemporary anthropology, you will:
- work with project leader Elisabeth Schober and other members of the team.
- benefit from attending group meetings, events, and discussions, and receive additional input on your project ideas from this wider network.
- be eligible for a one-time writing-up grant of 10,000 NOK after fieldwork is completed.
