TIK offers Innovation Certificate

Last year TIK was awarded one of UiO's certificates, which is an addition to bachelor's education. Now students can apply for admission to both The Innovation Certificate and our brand new bachelor's course TIK2000 - Innovation and Society.

We are pleased to be able to offer education at bachelor's level at TIK through the Innovation Certificate. This is a short part-time study program totaling 20 credits, which serves as an addition to a bachelor's degree and provides candidates a certificate of competency. The mandatory element is our newly developed bachelor's course TIK2000 - Innovation and Society, which is combined with either one 10-credit course or two 5-credit courses offered by the faculties of Social Sciences, Law, Educational Sciences, and Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

In addition to the introductory course, we are working on developing five new 5-credit courses that will be offered as early as spring 2025.

The world around us is constantly changing through innovation. Innovation is seen as vital in tackling major challenges such as climate change, but it may also create controversies and new problems. The Innovation certificate enables you to understand innovation, how it happens and how it impacts society.

The certificate is open to students at the undergraduate level. This means it is open to students in bachelor's programs, integrated five- and six-year programs, professional education programs, and incoming exchange students at the bachelor's level.

Students are prepared for various jobs through the interdisciplinary profile, collaborative learning, a nuanced understanding of innovation, and work with real-life cases. The Innovation Certificate documents these skills, which can be useful in the job application process and add an additional layer of expertise to the students' academic background.

"Do you want the skills that the workforce needs? Do you want to study with engaged students from all over UiO? Get a certificate in innovation!"
