New in OSIRIS: Derry Keohane and Trust Saidi

OSIRIS is happy to announce two new members of the research team: Postdoctoral fellow Trust Saidi (TIK) and Ph.D candidate Derry Keohane (MIoIR).

Trust Saidi

Trust Saidi holds a PhD from Maastricht University, with a dissertation titled ‘Travelling nanotechnologies’. He has experience in health innovation and design thinking from the University of Cape Town. Trust joined the norwegian OSIRIS team at TIK in November 2018 as a postdoctoral fellow.

“OSIRIS provides a nice platform to engage in research that has an impact on society. By virtue of being oriented towards investigating the impact of research from a broad stakeholder perspective, the institute is interesting to me because it bridges the gap between academia and industry.”

- Trust Saidi

Derry Keohane

Derry holds an MA in Philosophy and Politics from the University of Edinburgh; dissertation in Social Cognition, and MA Politics from the University of Manchester; dissertation in Democratic Innovations. He joined the british OSIRIS team at MioIR in autumn 2018. Derry's PhD project is entitled 'Impact of Science on Policymaking: Understanding the user side'.

"My interest in OSIRIS stems from a general dissatisfaction with the lack of engagement -  or perhaps more accurately a dysfunctional engagement - with science that currently pervades politics in general. The long-term, cross-national approach taken by OSIRIS presents a fantastic opportunity to investigate this issue with greater scope and effectiveness."

- Derry Keohane
