Osiris consortium meeting in Valencia

After more than two years of zoom meetings, the Osiris consortium finally met physically again for a two-day meeting in Valencia, Spain. The meeting was hosted by Osiris partner INGENIO and took place at their offices at Ciudad Politécnica de la Innovación.

20 participants met for two full days from 21st to the 22nd of March packed with presentations and discussions about current work that Osiris is doing, but also where we are headed and what we should focus on during the remaining two years of the center.

Day 1 started with a brief introduction, followed by presentations of work in the final stages of development. After a brief coffee break, the day continued with a PhD session, where the Osiris PhD candidates presented their work in progress. Topics in this session included covid-19 on Reddit, determinants for research use among policymakers, open access, and review panels. The remainder of the day was devoted to two sessions with presentations of work in progress.

Day 2 continued the discussion on work in progress. The first part of the day included two sessions of paper presentations. Some of the case studies conducted as part of Osiris were presented, including a case on gaming machine knowledge and policy, and a case study of research targeting oral health among elderly. In the final part of the seminar, we talked about important themes, insights and conclusions emerging from our work, and gaps that we should address and more.

After the consortium meeting, some of us stayed in Valencia for a few more days, rounding off the week with a joint writing retreat and taking the chance to work with the colleagues’ comments and feedback received during the meeting.
