People and Networks Matter - Enabling Sustainable Bioeconomy Transition

In March 2019, TIK is co-organizing a conference at Karlstad University, Sweden. TIK’s own Professor Olav Wicken will hold key-note speech number 1, and Postdoc Julia Szulecka will be chairing a workshop.

Strenghening the Nordic Bioeconomy

The “People and Networks Matter - Enabling Sustainable Bioeconomy Transition" conference will close the BioWiseTrans project coordinated by Nordregio on strengthening the Nordic bioeconomy. It created quite a unique network and provided the opportunity for bringing together various stakeholders (from academia, municipalities, and from the industry) to encourage and empower them in unlocking the drivers of sustainable bioeconomy transition.

Research entities from Norway (NIBIO and TIK), Sweden (Centre for Regional Studies, Karlstad University) and Finland (LUKE) held workshops to search for best practices in all Nordic countries.

This will be also reflected at the conference in Karlstad, which will foster interactions between practitioners, policy makers, and academics. It is assured through the selection of four diverse key-note speakers, parallel workshop sessions, but also a direct experience of Värmland – the large scale demonstrator of forest based bioeconomy.

Conference registration

We are happy to announce that the registration for the conference already opened and stays open until 27th of February 2019. For more details, please look at the conference website.

We will be pleased to welcome you in Karlstad in March 2019!
