The ISHPSSB Conference 2019

The TIK Centre is one of the local organizers of  The International Society for the History, Philosophy, and Social Studies of Biology (ISHPSSB) Conference 2019, which will take place in Oslo in July.

The Local Organizing Committee is happy to welcome you in Oslo for the 2019 International Society for the History Philosophy and Social Studies of Biology biennial meeting.

Organizers

The meeting is a joint effort of The Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology (NTM) and the University of Oslo Centre for Ecological and Evolutionary Synthesis (CEES), the Institute of Health and Society (HELSAM), the TIK Centre for Technology, Innovation and Culture (represented by professor Susanne Bauer), and the Museum of
 Cultural History - Department of Ethnography, Numismatics, Classical Archaeology and University History (MUV). It will take place at the main university campus, Blindern, which is located on the western outskirts of the city centre.

The conference

The International Society for the History, Philosophy, and Social Studies of Biology (ISHPSSB) brings together scholars from diverse disciplines, including the life sciences as well as history, philosophy, and social studies of science. The biennial ISHPSSB summer meetings are known for innovative, transdisciplinary sessions, and for fostering informal, co-operative exchanges and on-going collaborations.

Keynote speakers include Fern Wickson and Gísli Pálsson.
