One decade after the first ’Nordic STS’ conference in Trondheim, April 2013, we aim to take stock of STS in the Nordics. What might STS with this regional label attached mean today? The session will begin with a panel discussion followed by a broader engagement with attendees.
We will consider what have been important moments, themes or developments in the history of STS across or within each of the Nordic countries. We will also discuss the current status of STS including how the ‘inter-discipline’ currently interfaces with local institutional conditions, other research traditions and politics.
After taking stock we will address the future of Nordic STS – what are some current pressing matters and concerns, opportunities and challenges in the continued life of STS in the Nordics? What might be potentials (both in terms of research themes and practical venues) for future research collaborations?
