Under the headline 'Science in and with Democracy: Is There a Nordic Model?', Professor Kristin Asdal spoke at the kick-off seminar of the research program Future Challenges in the Nordics. The program examines societal challenges ranging from new ways of communication, altered mechanisms in opinion formation, economic, social and technological development, migration, polarisation between cities and the countryside, climate change and pandemics. Scholars form the humanities and social sciences are invited to share their knowledge and discuss some of these themes, with a focus on the Nordic countries. The first seminar took place at Hanaholmen cultural centre in Espoo in September.
