The Hau of Finance

Stine Engen presented a paper at the conference Impact Hau? Ethnographic critiques of sustainable finance.

With the rise of sustainable finance as its overarching theme, the final conference of the Hau of Finance project brought together papers that investigated the social, cultural and political dimensions of this new sustainable finance field. Held at the Centro Residenziale Universitario, which is part of the University of Bologna, the conference spanned over two days, bringing together anthropologists, geographers, sociologists, and other scholars within various fields.

Value threads Ph.D. candidate, Stine Engen, presented her paper "On green swans and catastrophic futures: Climate change as complexity theory in central banking", which is forthcoming (2024) in a special issue of Valuation Studies on “Valuation and the role of critique in the good economy," edited by Kristin Asdal and Liliana Doganova.
