About the project
The IPCC-project focuses on the Fifth Assessment Report from the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC AR5), and aims to analyse how key messages from the reports are communicated and ultimately whther they are used by policy makes in creating climate policy. The project follows the knowledge from publication to decision making in Norway, UK, Poland, Spain and the Netherlands.
Objectives
This project aims to "follow the knowledge" from publication to decision-making, using the opportunity of the staged publication of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Fifth Assessment Report (IPCC AR5), to explore and enhance, in real time, the mechanisms by which selected key policy-relevant scientific knowledge in these reports influences decision-making in different contexts.
Background
The researchers in the IPCC AR5-project come from varied backgrounds, including sociology, STS, linguistics, social economics, media studies, and communications.
Financing
The project is funded by JPI Climate/Norwegian Research Council, and coordinated by CICERO Center for International Climate and Environmental Research - Oslo
