DRIVE: A Network for Depression Research

The Depression Research Initiative (DRIVE) is a research network whose purpose is to further the understanding of depression and develop more effective treatment approaches.

About DRIVE

DRIVE is made up by six work packages, each being led by different senior researchers. 

The key objective of diversifying the work packages is to encompass several core aspects of depression research, so they collectively can address questions that cannot be managed by a single work package.

Overarching Aims

To identify the pivotal causal factors, processes, and mechanisms that lead to depression in a developmental perspective

To explore alternative taxonomies of classifying depression in diverse and representative clinical samples, with the ultimate aim of enabling truly personalized treatment

To develop and evaluate the effectiveness of novel and promising treatment modalities for depression, including high-intensity, high-dose, sequential, combined and add-on treatments
