Practical information

Welcome to Oslo!

Getting there

Our main venue is Georg Sverdrups hus. We encourage everyone to walk, cycle or use public transport.

Ask!

Do not hesitate to ask one of our student assistants (look for the orange t-shirt) if you have any queries.

Panel venues

The panel sessions will take place in Georg Sverdrups hus and in Harriet Holters hus. The latter is further north on campus from Georg Sverdrup. Take a right when you leave Georg Sverdrup via the main entrance and walk across the square and until you see the orange poster.

How to navigate the programme

The programme can be accessed by using the QR code you find on the posters. We have no printed programme, but those of you who want to print the page of the panel you are part of should be able to – all the abstracts in the accordion will print. For those of you who want to e.g. search through the programme to contact other presenters, we have added a pdf of all abstracts to the conference website.

Food and other services

For those of you who have bought the lunch package, lunch will be served in the foyer and on the lower ground floor of Georg Sverdrups hus. If in doubt, check your name tag for the dot that indicates that you have bought lunch all three days.

For those who have not pre-ordered meals, there is a cafeteria on the 2nd floor of Georg Sverdrups hus and also several in the main service building on campus, Fredrikke. In Fredrikke there is also a small shop. There is a pharmacy next to the Akademika bookshop in Kristian Ottosens hus, also in the main square.

Luggage can be left on the lower ground floor of Georg Sverdrups hus. There will be someone there to watch the art installation, but we would still say you leave it there at your own risk. Luggage cannot be brought into the main auditorium due to fire regulations.

Toilets are found on the lower ground floor of Georg Sverdrups hus. There are also a few above the mezzanine on the 2nd floor, where many of the panel rooms are.

Conference dinner

The conference dinner will take place at Samfunnssalen, central Oslo. You can get a metro train from Blindern station to Jernbanetorget station. Doors open at 18.00, a buffet dinner is served at 19.00.

The bars will be open, and after an aperitivo you can buy your own drinks from there.

Those who have not registered for the conference dinner will be able to join the party at 21.00.
